The Crack in the Cosmic Egg

A kind of supergroup. Formed in September 1974 by former Jane members Charly Maucher and Wolfgang Krantz along with early Scorpions member Werner Lohr. To many, Harlis disappointed as their style reflects the poorer moments of Jane's output.

The debut HARLIS took the hard rock style from JANE III and, after a slightly dodgy start, presented a reasonable selection of songs with some good guitar breaks, but with a more mainstream heavy rock style, very much pre-empting the Jane 1980's sound. To prove themselves as a progressive act, the sequel NIGHT MEETS THE DAY was a concept album, which contained some nice majestic instrumental work, but song-wise much of it ended up sounding more American than German!
